I have worked for Moto for the last 14 years. I started working as a waitress at the age of 17 during a gap year and I had every intention of leaving after a year to take up my placement at Leeds University on a Teacher Training course. 14 years later and I’m still here …. Moto is a great company to work for and they invest time in developing their people, they are good at giving employees a chance to broaden their experiences. During my time with the company I quickly moved into different areas of the business building up a good understanding of how everything fits together. I’ve worked in areas such as Administration, Lodge Management and Finance. During 2006 & 2007 I was lucky enough to be involved in the implementation of a new computer system to Moto head office. This involved working closely with third party technology partners to ensure that the best solutions were deployed to meet the needs of the business. The project was very challenging and deadlines were tight, however it was very rewarding to know I had been part of the successful implementation of Phase one of the ERP Computer Project. Once this phase of the projected ended I moved into the role of Data Manager working at Head Office in the IT department. Working in different areas of the business has given me the opportunity to build relationships with different departments. There is very little hierarchy, no one is hung up on status with an open office policy and you’re respected for being yourself. You are given real responsibility and your opinions are taken seriously.
